A word from the President We are starting to get more clarity about when we can restart training and playing. | We have also tentatively rescheduled our Junior and Womens’ Come and Try days. | Blackcats Presentation night Unfortunately we will have to run this as an on-line event via Zoom. It will take place on Wednesday, September 29 commencing at 7pm. | Luke Hughes will be joining us for the evening from Perth. | Please contact Adrian Dunn for the link to the night. | Working with Children Check: All Junior Coaches and Volunteers please note Please check that your Working with Children Check is still current. If it has expired, or will expire during the season you can renew it from here | If you do not yet have a valid Working with Children Check please click here to see if you need one. There is no cost involved for volunteers and coaches. | You will be unable to volunteer at the club, or coach juniors without a valid Working with Children Check. | Vaccination While vaccination is a personal decision, the difficulties controlling the Delta variant of COVID mean it is becoming more and more clear that the only way we can protect ourselves, and get the season back under way is to have as many people vaccinated as possible. Please, if you have not already done so, make an appointment to get your first or second shot as soon as possible. | Please talk with your GP if you have any concerns about getting vaccinated. |

Summer Season Update We are inching ever so closer to being back to what we all love doing – playing and/or watching our children and/or grandchildren play baseball. | The release of the road map out of the State Lockdown provides some guidelines but there remains much uncertainty over their interpretation. All of these checkpoints are reliant upon Victorians achieving vaccination milestones, so we encourage you and your family to talk to your GP and get vaccinated as soon as possible. | Monash Council, our landlord, is still awaiting clarification regarding the parameters of participation density & spectators as well as use of the Clubhouse and changerooms. Preliminary information indicates that there will be strict limits on spectators and access to the clubrooms and changerooms. | With that as a backdrop, the Club is working towards holding Come N Try/Trial Days on SATURDAY/SUNDAY OCTOBER 30/31. | Senior training is also likely to resume on that weekend. | When there is greater clarity from Monash Council, we will convey it on our Facebook and web site platforms. | Baseball Victoria is surveying clubs to gain an insight as how the early part of the season should look in terms of starting dates, length of games and the duration of the season. | What is clear is the importance of everyone, particularly players, to carry a mask with them at all times and wear it in the dugout. | The Club will have for sale a WBC designed face mask and gaiter. These can be ordered in the coming weeks. | As well as mandating the use of masks for all Senior and top-end Junior players, everyone will be required to sign in using the QR code signs that are posted around Napier Park every time they enter the grounds. | While this is a far cry from the information and news we hoped to share with you, it is all that is available at present. | Peter Flintoff Memorial Day We were hoping to schedule the Peter Flintoff Memorial Day to take place on the Sunday the week before the first Senior game of the season however spectator limits mean we will probably need to delay this until later in the season unfortunately. |
