Waverley Baseball Club is both excited and delighted to announce Taryn Richardson as the new head of its growing Women’s program. Taryn brings an extensive wealth of experience, acumen, knowledge and team management to the Club.
Taryn replaces Jordan Ley who later this year marries the lovely Tiarn Cook and is keen to focus on his continuing role as assistant coach and playing for the mighty Wildcats.
Recently, Taryn was an assistant coach at Sandringham Baseball Club as well as working with Baseball Victoria’s State U18 program and the VSS program under Artie Papanicolaou.
Taryn comes from a successful Softball background and has spent the past 10 years building capacity in Baseball. Renowned for her dedication to Sporting Schools Victoria in both Softball and Baseball, she has spent the last 12 years coaching at National and State levels, as well as in State development programs, schools, and community sport. Taryn recently picked up multiple School Sports awards for her service, outstanding teacher contribution and team manager of the year.
With a Bachelor of Education Degree specialising in Physical Education, Sport, and Exercise Science and Technologies, Taryn places utmost importance on fostering a secure, positive, and supportive environment.
She upholds the highest standards of achievement and continually evolves her practices and skills.
Taryn’s unwavering enthusiasm, passion, experiences, innovation, and creativity drives her to adapt and meet the current and future needs of her field.
“I’m really excited about joining such a prestigious and successful Club as Waverley,” Taryn said. “Waverley has done some amazing things in rebooting its Women’s program over the past two seasons. “I can’t wait to meet all the players and dive head long into the upcoming season.”
The Club will hold a meet and greet session with Taryn at its clubhouse on Saturday, August 26 at 10.30am. All past, present and prospective players are welcome.
