WAVERLEY Baseball Club is extremely proud and delighted to announce the appointment of JENNA BASSE as its new head coach of the Club’s Women’s program.
Jenna, a member of last season’s Waverley State League premiership, will also continue as a player with CALE HUNKIN taking over the game day responsibilities in his capacity as assistant coach.
The Club is also extremely pleased to confirm that KANE LONGSTAFF will return as coach of the Women’s Metro League team.
Jenna is no stranger to Waverley Baseball Club as she has played in five premierships with the Club stretching back to 2008-09.
Along the way Jenna has represented Victoria and before returning home to Victoria earlier in the year, Jenna coached Morley in the West Australian Baseball League.
“Off the back of a successful season for not only the Women’s Program but the entire Waverley Baseball Club, I’m excited about the upcoming season and feel extremely honoured that the club has asked me to coach alongside Cale and Kane,” Jenna said.
“Our aim is to create an enjoyable and fun environment both on and off the field while developing the players’ skills and game knowledge.
“We have such a great mix of experienced players who are invaluable, fantastic juniors and newer players who love the game and have been such a great addition to our club.
“It’s exciting both as a player and in a coaching role to be a part of such a fantastic club and its growing Women’s program.”
Waverley Baseball Club looks forward to an exciting period as our Women’s program continues to grow, prosper and provide more opportunities for aspiring players.
Jenna will announce in the coming weeks when pre-season training will start.
Join us in congratulating Jenna.
