HEAD COACH - SUMMERADAM BRIGHT

Waverley Baseball Club is delighted to announce that Adam Bright returns for a fifth season as head coach.
During his tenure @ Napier Park, the Wildcats have twice reached the Grand Final and played finals another season.
Under his guidance, Waverley also won a Club championship, the first time in more than a decade.
While his pitching days are behind him, ‘Brighty’ continues to excel in bringing out the best in all players.
Adam is also an outstanding clubman making everyone from a young junior playing Seniors for the first time to a crusty old veteran feel equally @ home in the Wildcats’ nation.
It’s a respect that sets the tone for a strong & lasting culture.

UNDER 18 STATE COACHLIAM EVANS

Waverley Baseball Club is really excited to announce Liam Evans as our head coach of our prestigious U18 State team.
Liam, a graduate from the Wildcats’ T-Ball program, is a Club Senior Champion & a dual Junior Club Champion, where he played in back to back U18 premierships.
A two-way player, Liam is coming off his first season as Senior coach of our Blackcats’ Winter team.
He’s packed a vast amount of knowledge, international experience and playing expertise into his young life.
And, that augurs well for the development of all young players in our U18 program.

UNDER 16 STATE COACHMICHEAL NAKAMURA

Micheal Nakamarua is one of the most decorated players in Australian baseball history.
During a distinguished career that saw him play for Melbourne Reds in the Australian Baseball League, he represented Australia in two Olympics and played for Minnesota Twins & Toronto Blue Jays in the MLB before becoming a superstar in Japan.
In his eight seasons in Japan, Micheal set a Pacific Coast League record for saves (39) in a season, played on two Championship winning teams and owned an ERA of 2.61.
Now in his fourth season as a coach @ Waverley, Micheal has led teams to three premierships.

UNDER 14 STATE COACHTRIF STAFILIS

Respected junior coach Trif Stafilis enters his first season as our Under 14 coach.
After spending many years @ Ormond, Trif made the move to Waverley three years ago where he has helped out with our junior program.
For the past three seasons, Trif coached in the Charter program, winning the Intermediate & Junior League State Championships.
Apart from assisting with the Waverley U14s & U16s, Trif last year coached the Club’s Thirds.
His standing as a coach is reflected in his position as Victoria assistant coach in the U16 Australian Youth Championships last season.

UNDER 12 STATE COACHKEITH GOGOS

Keith Gogos boasts one of the more remarkable careers in the Australian Baseball League.
After initially playing as a left hand relief pitcher, ‘Gogy’ reinvented himself as one of the most feared power hitters in the ABL.
During the 1997 season, Keith led the Melbourne Monarchs in home runs (16) & RBIs as well as posting a 6-0, 3.20 record on the mound.
It was a stunning performance that saw him finish third in the ABL MVP voting.
Keith enters his third season as U12 State coach having guided his team to the finals the past two years.
